Thriving or surviving at work: how workplace learning opportunities and subjective career success are connected with job satisfaction and turnover intention?

Purpose The purpose of this study is to better understand factors related turnover intention (TI) and job satisfaction (JS) in the information technology engineering sectors. Specifically, investigates role workplace learning opportunities (WLO) afforded by environment individual’s subjective career success (SCS). connections between are examined, as well their JS TI. Design/methodology/approach current research was based on self-report questionnaire data ( N = 153). included existing instruments measuring WLO, SCS, analyses Pearson product-moment correlations, path analysis (based multiple regression) relative importance (dominance analysis). Findings Results indicated that higher access resources support learning, more for professional growth satisfactory decisions made employees were connected lower processes well-being strongly intertwined mutually reinforce each other, reducing willingness change a near future. Originality/value This adds previous providing detailed knowledge various dimensions WLO SCS. findings present can offer insights developing work environments where wish remain, learn satisfied with careers, thus ultimately supporting well-being.
